- Blind Slat - The Blind Slat is the "body" of a blind. It is to a blind what a louver is to a shutter.
- Cornice - See Valence
- Headrail - The Headrail contains the mechanics of a blind which opens, closes, raises, or lowers the blind.
- Ladder - This structure, available in cloth or cord, supports the blind slats and is essential in both raising or lowering and opening or closing the blind.
- Lift Cords - Cords that are used to raise and lower the blind slats.
- Model Designation - The letter and number combination that designates blind style and model on the price charts of each blind. For example the 3/4" Applause Honeycomb blinds have a model designation of "E3".
- Tilt Cords - Cords that are used to tilt the blind slats up or down to vary the amount of light coming through the blind.
- Valence - The covering of the Headrail that accentuates the blind slat in color and design.
