Below you will find pictures and definitions for most of the hardware and blind components of our blinds. If you have any other questions about our blinds, please contact us, and our representatives will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

  • Blind Slat - The Blind Slat is the "body" of a blind. It is to a blind what a louver is to a shutter.
  • Cornice - See Valence
  • Headrail - The Headrail contains the mechanics of a blind which opens, closes, raises, or lowers the blind.
  • Ladder - This structure, available in cloth or cord, supports the blind slats and is essential in both raising or lowering and opening or closing the blind.
  • Lift Cords - Cords that are used to raise and lower the blind slats.
  • Model Designation - The letter and number combination that designates blind style and model on the price charts of each blind. For example the 3/4" Applause Honeycomb blinds have a model designation of "E3".
  • Tilt Cords - Cords that are used to tilt the blind slats up or down to vary the amount of light coming through the blind.
  • Valence - The covering of the Headrail that accentuates the blind slat in color and design.
